Your follow up email helps to ensure we have the necessary information we need to enter correctly your contribution into our records, especially so that charitable contribution amounts may be included in your income tax receipt issued at year end.
After prayerful reflection and in gratitude for God’s many blessings, we encourage you to make a personal commitment to the Lord and to your Parish by completing and returning a Parish Giving Commitment Form.

Parishioners are encouraged to consider incorporating a charitable bequest to the Parish in their estate plans. It is strongly recommended that you seek legal advice to ensure the clause chosen is properly worded and properly placed in the overall structure of your will. Unrestricted bequests allow the Parish to use the donor’s bequest where it is felt to be needed most. The following are sample will clauses that might be used:
UNRESTRICTED SPECIFIC BEQUEST: I direct my Executor or Trustee to pay to the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Parish of Saint John XXIII at Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada (____ percentage (%) of my Estate; or the sum of $____) for the general use and purposes of the Parish in its absolute discretion. The Receipt of the Pastor or other designated trustee of the Parish shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my Executor or Trustee.
UNRESTRICTED RESIDUAL BEQUEST: I direct my Executor or Trustee to pay or transfer the residue of my Estate to the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Parish of Saint John XXIII at Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada for the general use and purposes of the Parish in its absolute discretion. The Receipt of the Pastor or other designated trustee of the Parish shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my Executor or Trustee.
The above is provided as general information, not to render legal advice. You are urged to consult your own lawyer or other professional advisor about making bequests or engaging in other forms of planned giving.
