RELIGIOUS EDUCATION for ADULTS
- Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is faith formation for those who have not been baptised, for those baptised in other faiths, and for Catholics wanting to enrich their faith. It is an on-going process that includes sponsors, team members, and the support of the whole Parish community. During 2009/10, the RCIA group was joint with St Paul the Apostle Parish. For info, call Fr Gerald at 832-7335.
- Tuesday Morning Scripture Study: Fr Gerald invites all those interested, to meet informally over coffee every Tuesday in the Ted Wakeman Boardroom, following 9:15am Mass, for reflection on the Scriptures for the coming Sunday, using the Celebration Teaching Resource. This group is the successor to the previous Monday morning group.
- Interested in forming a new Scripture study group? Weekly 90-minute facilitator-led sessions. Contact Kitty, 832-7175.
- JustFaith offers spiritual growth and study for people who want to learn more about the Church's justice tradition and integrate their personal spirituality with social ministry. Regular meetings are supplemented with "Border Crossing" experiences meant to take participants outside their normal experience and bring them into contact and understanding with people in need. The two most recent JustFaith groups at Blessed John XXIII met from Spring 2009 through January 2010; follow-up meetings and activities specific to these groups are still on-going. For information about new JustFaith groups that may be forming in the future at our Parish, please contact the Office. For groups forming at other parishes, contact Sr Johanna at Micah House, sjustice@mts.net
